Middas, 19th of Last Seed, 4E 201 – Day 3

Well it’s a new day, so I have decided to get up early and head towards Whiterun.  On my way out of town I saw Faendal who thanked me for helping him with Camilla.

The road to Whiterun can be dangerous, its a lucky thing I’m good with my swords, pesky wolves kept attacking me. I did find a number of ingredients for potion making which I thought might come in handy to either sell or mix up something. I must remember to keep an eye out for the more exotic samples.

My first glimps of Whiterun impressed me. It was larger than I was expecting and much higher.  It gave me hope of finding work and fellowship there.

Rain. I hate rain, makes my armour so much harder to wear.  Just as it started, I came across Honningbrew Meadery – a brewery with just a handful of buildings.

I decided to wander around Whiterun before venturing inside. I like to know a place before I enter it, just in case an escape is needed. Just as I was reaching the far side of the town I was attacked by bandits. I wasn’t expecting to see bandits so close to a fortified town, made me wonder what they were guarding or doing there. There was even a bandit camp under a ridge right next to Whiterun. God only knows what the guards are doing. I did plunder their camp for supplies and gold. The locked chest was a challenge but I managed to get in, had some nice supplies and quite a lot of gold in it.

Finally made it to the entrance to Whiterun and came across a stables which was selling a horse.  I knew I needed one, so I spent most of yesterday’s earnings on the purchase.

Spoke to the master of the Skyforge, he let me use the Skyforge which is good as I need new armour soon.  I then went to speak to the Companions to find two people fighting.

After talking with the Companions I have been given a quest to prove my strength and honour. It will prove to be a glorious challenge, one I look forward to doing. However I need to speak to the Jarl of Whiterun first.

It was getting late so I decided to get some sleep but first I wanted to read one of my books, Brief History of the Empire, v1 & v2.  It was an interesting read about the first emperors, it was a shame I didn’t have the third installment as I would have stayed up to the small hours.  Either way, bed and a new day.
